The Process — Four Phases, Done Right
Wedding gown alterations are completed in carefully sequenced phases. We never rush a phase or combine steps that should be separate — because every adjustment to the bodice affects the hem, and every hem decision affects the bustle.
Phase 1 — Bodice & Structure
We begin with sides, bust, darts, boning, and any structural work needed to achieve a secure, comfortable fit. For strapless gowns this is the most critical phase — the dress must sit firmly on the body without relying on straps.
Phase 2 — Straps & Sleeves
Once the bodice is confirmed we address straps, sleeves, and shoulder adjustments — communicating every possible outcome before any irreversible changes are made.
Phase 3 — Hem
Set only after the bodice is finalized. We require the same shoes at every hem fitting — even a small heel difference changes the length. We offer every hem type: blind, cut, serged, enclosed, horsehair, lace, and beaded lace.
Phase 4 — Bustle
The final phase, set after the hem is confirmed. We build every bustle to be secure, intuitive, and easy for your wedding party to manage on the day.
Timeline
Our standard process takes approximately 8 weeks from first fitting to final pickup, with each phase completed in about two weeks. We welcome brides on shorter timelines — expedited fees apply based on time remaining before your wedding date. To avoid expedited fees, schedule your first fitting at least 14 weeks before your wedding.
All work done in-house. Our fitters and tailors work in the same studio. The person who fits your gown is the person who oversees its construction — no handoffs, no outsourcing.

Do you work on gowns from any boutique?
Yes — we work on wedding gowns purchased anywhere, from any store, in any style or fabric.
How many fittings will I need?
Most brides need 3–5 fittings. If extra fittings are needed we can easily accommodate.
Can I bring a guest?
One guest is welcome for the full fitting. Additional guests may join at the start to see you in your gown.
Can I schedule my next appointment in advance?
We don't schedule in advance — you'll receive a text with a scheduling link as soon as your gown is ready for the next phase. Same-day and next-day availability is frequently available including evenings and weekends.
What if I'm planning to lose weight?
We recommend waiting until you're close to your goal to avoid paying for the same adjustment twice.
