Better fit, better speeds, better pricing, better knowledge.
Arthur and Lucca was started in 2011 as Peter Field and quickly grew to be one of the top tailor shops for both men and women in Chicago. Founded by Nicholas Monterotti, and with the help of over 70 different people through the life of the company, we've approached tailoring with a fresh set of eyes and focus on delivering an easy and high quality experience for our customers.
In true bootstrapped startup fashion, we launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2013 in order to get into commercial space and begin growing. It's humbling to remember where we came from and we enjoy sharing this part of our story with you too so we can laugh together. We still call ourselves a startup as our business continues to change and evolve, but after 10+ years we have a strong foundation.
We've done a little bit of everything over the years from offering design services to clothing designers, completing small and large scale manufacturing projects for a variety of clients, and opening a second shop in Manhattan for 3 years. The retail climate has changed dramatically each year and we have continued to change too.
Our pricing is one of our favorite differentiators:
> Custom Clothing is offered at some of the most competitive prices in the country, whiles still offering high end super 110s-160s 100% wool fabrics. We are able to offer such great savings because we are truly master fitters and almost never have to remake a garment to get the fit right for our new customers. We save money by being good, so we pass this savings on.
> Alterations are priced using an algorithm to offer the best price possible for the degree of difficulty of the work and the time needed to complete the work, while employing our staff full time and year round with livable wages.
The future is bright and with each passing day, week, month, and year, we continue to deepen our expertise and abilities to better offer solutions to our customers and clients on projects as small as a pant hem and large as a 10,000 unit manufacturing order.
